my stash has arrived!!!

• i love books...i'm in LOVE with books.. they are my splurge..and i get so weak when i see a stash! hehe! i started reading when i was in grade 2.. sweet valley books were a fad then.. too bad i lost my first and second book..the second was a babysitter's club book. i can still remember that it is colored yellow and it's some kinda sort of about a mystery/tooth/dentist (think so..hehe!). my first sweet valley kids book was about jessica and elizabeth's horseback riding adventure. it's colored pink..hehe! but i started reading frequently when i was in high school going to college, up until now. one reason why i can't read more frequently besides from having no time is that i prefer that i have my own copy of the book that i'm going to read..hehe!

• last january 17, a day after the darn mailman incident, my book stash has arrived. it calmed me down.. books can be therapeutic, you know..i bought 5 pre owned books and 1 brand new book from rovingbookstore.multiply.com.. so i got 6 in total..hehe! i know..u might have read my twilight post..i'm weak.. i can't resist them! i saw most of the titles that i'm looking for in his site so i grabbed the opportunity. i was supposed to buy 8 but my id and superego was clashing..hehe! if i buy a few, the shipping fee would be sayang and if i buy too many, my gcash money would be cut down to more than a half..hehe! so i ended up with 6. and i'm happy!

• i got them for a total of 1260 pesos. the lovely bones (140) suzanne's diary for nicholas (180), veronika decides to die-brand new (235), at first sight (220), confessions of a shopaholic (180), a walk to remember (130) +165 for shipping..hehe! most of them are good as new!

• this is a picture of the "untouchable" drawer in my room.. this is the only thing that you'll find organized in my jungle nook.. these are my books since grade school (except for my first two books which were lost). this is not my complete collection..hehe! i still have 2 books on my top shelf in my room, 2 on the shelf in the living room, 1 was borrowed my Marian and another one beneath all of them (Hope for the Flowers by Trina Paulus) since it can't fit in the drawer..

• funny how i can track all of them but frequently neglect other important papers and things..hehehe! oh, well..i guess i may be excused..they are my babies!! i can be really meticulous with my books. i cover them neatly with plastic cover. (the twilight saga took me 1 hour to cover. i have to wipe off the dust and paper fiber since it is visible on the black cover.). i HATE lines on the spine of my books! i can only justify such if the book is pre owned (such as The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold)...i don't like creases or dents. it is my pet peeve to see people folding the top corner of the page where they left off..use a book mark!! these, and a little bit more..hehe!

• and to those kind hearted earthlings with fat pockets out there.. i still want more books! hehe! i'm looking for I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb and The Shack by William Young.. I can only think of these titles for now..

• the weekend was festive again as the city celebrates dinagyang..

• all that i'm looking forward each year is to see celebrities..i saw two..diana zubiri and manny villar..(nice to know..) but all i saw were their backs! as in likod lang!! i was looking forward to see john lloyd and JAKE CUENCA!! although jake was not 'advertised' to make an appearance..hehe..it was just wishful thinking! hehe..but john lloyd was here..wala lang sya nag parade...huhuhu..it's just now in "i love betty la fea" that i find him gwapo..hehehe...but jake is cuter and gwapo-er and aaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!! (forgive my virtual screaming...hehe!) i'm so picky with local celebs but jake is tops! nami mag act kag gwapoooo!!! sorry, can't help it.. i love the "other garcia" better..hehe! (its on Tayong Dalawa, a new series)

• anyway, i noticed that less people are on the streets on saturday..but there are as many on sunday as last year..oh, well..just like what was on the radio this morning, the festival has grown..but what about our faith which is supposed to be the core of this festival?

• i remember when we went to church last sunday. i thought people are coming forward to hear mass better..turned out they wanna see manny villar and other politicians..(one of the reasons nga likod lang nakita ko..but i did not bother..i saw manny villar up close in sm city years ago..he even smiled at papa and i thought they were friends..hahaha!) so, turned out the people came forward for the wrong reason after all...hehe...

• anyway, the festival was so DH! its hunting me down! the costumes are so red and yellow...check this out..

• after dinagyang, chinese new year naman..i was awakened by what seems to be a never-ending firecracker boom in the middle of my deep slumber. darn it! i was not even aware that today is chinese new year till this morning..i thought it was yesterday! (as it was brought to my consciousness only yesterday also..haha!)

• i'm currently loving taylor swift!! she really do sing people's lives and i identify to her songs..she's great! her songs are really easy to listen and the words are perfectly strung together matching a girl's heart..some songs are also quite empowering..taylor swift can be a breakthrough from listening to air supply, barry manilow, chicago and jose mari chan for the past couple of months..hehe!

• i'm also currently reading confessions of a shopaholic by sophie kinsella. the book is hilarious! and i can identify with becky bloomwood's ambitious level! haha..but she's really, really shopaholic! looking forward to the movie more!!

• i received my fingerprint cards for my NCLEX application today..but the shitty mailman is so STUPID AND BIRD-BRAINED AND DUMB, he folded the darn envelope and stuck it in the smallest of our mailbox!!!!!

• the envelope clearly said "DO NOT BEND" in bold black letters..it's not my fault he is so dumb that he went blind!!!! aaahhh...it irks me so much that people can play dumb and dumberer!!!! shitheads! ugh!

• i don't know if he's born stupid or just playing stupid..either way, i hate him..no, i loathe him! i am so infuriated!!!!

• lucky him, he just dropped the envelope in the mailbox and did not ring the doorbell..i did not get so see his dumb face..or else...

• can this get any shittier?! uugghh!!! my already delayed application will be all the more DELAYED!! i am doing a daily rundown of my mental schedule for finishing both my application and grad school assignments for next week even if my brain is running SLOW and now, that DARN and PLAIN STUPID mailman ruined everything!!!!! ugh! shitheads! (pardon the vulgarity..i'm just so pissed!)

• i have this occasional pet peeve about creases and folds on documents and for him to fold what is not supposed to be folded made me furious!

• this made me think of placing a sign in our mailbox to use the damn doorbell if they would deliver large envelopes...(kinanglan pa ni bala kun alam ka?! hay naku!)

• my day was supposed to be started right..i made a payment to my supplier for the order of my buyer as well as paying for my own ordered books (which is expected to arrive tomorrow! hoping they will calm me down..) i also sang along to air supply songs as i watched boy and kris. i'm loving air supply more! then came lunch time when i saw the envelope! it was icky to handle! yukot gid sya ya!!!!

• i just diverted my attention in whipping up a strawberry RED dessert placed in a RED rubber pan..but after that, i'm angry again..until now..and it's 9:56 PM...it's not my fault he's too stupid to care and too dumb to read!!

• look at my tired eyes..just finished working on some assignments...and i just noticed i'm wearing red..made me smile but didn't made me calm..the dessert tastes good by the way! tastes like strawberry ice cream sandwiched by graham crackers..

• (sorry for the languages used..i'm just vexed by the darn mailman..and i'm not over acting.)

• i watched Bedtime Stories this afternoon with jelai. it was a good movie! the story was so creative that it transformed the fantasy of bedtime stories ("it's a bedtime story..anything can happen!") to the realities of life ("there are no happy endings in real life.")

• but the things that caught my attention were the red horse named Ferrari and of course Bugsy! ("you still have bigger eyes") they are of course, DH things!
• halfway through the movie, i thought, if there will be a slightest thing here about an atay (liver), tapos gid! this movie will be sick!

• then later on as Skeeter (Adam Sandler) confronts Jill (Keri Russel), Jill said, "Don't destroy this LIVER of respect i have for you!"

• WHY DOES THE DH THINGS HAUNT ME/US??

• In addition, i kept hearing air supply songs on jeepneys, i started a joke and the search is over on shops!! waaahhh!!

• i thought it's new year's..why am i stuck in halloween? next month will be valentines and i'm pretty sure that it will be halloween still!! hahaha!

giving back

• yesterday, january 11 (the date is so DH! 1-11! ha!), we went to a poor family to give them a good tasty lunch. we already did this one holiday and yesterday was just another year to continue the tradition.

• the family had 10 children. and i think 2 or 3 of her daughters have their own as well. the parents, children and grandchildren all live together in what they call a house. their living space is too small for them that children are everywhere at anyone's 360 degrees!

.

• intermission: wall-e won as best animated film in the golden globes! i love that movie! johnny depp is presenting an award now!!! aahhh! (i'm currently watching the golden globes..)

.

• back to where i am, we served them lunch that we cooked here at home..chicken adobo, sotanghon, spaghetti and beef caldereta of some sort (i'm not really sure what that was. the only thing that got me was it has a RED tomato sauce)...we also joined eating.. i was not expecting that the neighbors won't come to eat. i thought, this is unusual..hehe..because the past year, people just start coming in at the house where we brought lunch. but now, none. they were even the ones who invited people to come over since there are a lot of left overs.

.

• but i haven't just given up yet..i know some true colors will be shining soon..hehe! not that i regard them that way..but its our instinct "to grab it while i lasts". and i was not wrong. came the time when we handed our old clothes, some kept grabbing them even if they won't fit. one lady was grabbing almost everything then returning them over to the box if it's not her type. mapili pa sya ha! talk about mahaderas and oportunistas..by the second box, everybody was swarming in and grabbing every shirt raised over.

• intermission again: heath ledger won best supporting actor for the dark knight! yohooo! he is still one of my favorites since 10 things i hate about you days..i haven't watched the dark knight but a short clip was shown earlier and the joker doesn't seem to be heath ledger. which only shows that he did the role so well that it is the joker when you look at it and not heath. as an actor you have to be the role and not the other way around..yes to heath!

• so there we were..doing some charity work. there were a few tears shed during the prayer. but not a drop came from me. i have been so smile-happy for the past couple of months that i think i have to brush up with the other emotions..haha! i may seem apathetic but a lot of things are going on in my head. yah..i still ponder..hehe!

• it was kinda fulfilling having helped a family thrice as big as us. they are 16 in a household by the way. too bad i haven't brought my camera with me..how can u have a quality life if that is so?! hmm..

.

• another thing that came into my mind is that this is another opportunity for me to maybe lessen the level of my DH evilness..hahaha! basi pa lng buhinan ni Lord score ko sa tally board! hehehe! but of course this can only pass as a joke..the primary reason is plain giving back. last year was great. so why not start this year right..

.

• well, the DH chronicles is an exception (Don, indi na magreact! haha! gin unahan ko na daan!)

.

• after the lunch, we went grocery shopping for some items we need. i grabbed some wierd juices. i am always quite adventurous to try new food or drinks (but not the fear factor type of menu). i got an aloe vera juice drink, a purple carrot+mixed fruit juice drink and a brocolli + mixed fruit juice drink..weird eh?! i still have to try those! i was just there circling the grocery while cradling these juices in my hand since i'm finding our cart and i have no sense of direction! talk about te-nanga! haha!

• and my cellphone had a glitch that i can't inderstand how and i can't know when it will return to its normal self..

.

• oh well, i just have to smile and wave!

• just went back home from school..rather from a 5 minute class! haha! i just met with my teacher for some instructions then went home..what a bummer! going there at 4pm is just quite aargh!

• nevertheless, i had some short chika with ms timay and sir pendon which left me a large dose of random smiles that will probably supply me for the whole week! hahaha! the DH thing never 'leaves'! haha!

• this morning we had a film showing about cosmetic surgery in bioethics class. made me think, what if we will all be just a bunch of benjamin buttons in the next years? oh well!

• just finished watching the movie "the curious case of benjamin button". It was a good flick. It made me think of time..time can change everything but surely at times only memories do stay..

• it amazes me how time works. i wonder how it is like to be suspended in time or if time does not matter at all..

• yesterday, someone flew halfway around the world while i lay asleep. it makes me think what have i been doing? i have been so still for the past months that at times my drive is dropping. i have to live and not just exist!

• yesterday, two of my good friends left..(yeah, yeah..people always leave mode again for the nth time!) one for manila, one for california..i don't know but goodbyes always leave an ache in my heart. its as if one person chips my heart in every goodbye. if this is literal then maybe i have only 2 chambers left! haha! or maybe i am just being a one tree hill addict again..P Sawyer! (they came back from the winter hiatus, btw..and the episode was great!!!)...

holiday bum..

HAPPY 2009 EVERYONE!!! .

• I have been a holiday bum lately..I don't know why but i feel indifferent. This is supposed to be the best holiday. This is the year that MADE me, for crying out loud! but i don't know why i just don't feel like it.

• Every year, i am in charge of the games for our christmas parties, but now, i just passed on the buck. maybe i'm just tired of the monotony and i just don't feel like it.

.

• I don't even had the same enthusiasm of a little girl opening her christmas presents on new year's day just as i was last year! (We open gifts on new year, by the way.) I don't know if its just part of being a holiday bum or its because i had zero gifts under the tree..poor me! haha!

.

• Christmas and New year is not always the biggest deal for us. It's just another day wherein i feel that we just need to eat something special on the eve of those days, hear banging firecrackers, relpy to text greetings, open our gifts then sleep. We were used to celebrate it with only the 5 of us along with our helpers. hehe..last year was so much fun since we had our new year with our family in Bacolod. This year, only a few of them are left there..my cousins already left abroad..hehe!

• yeah..yeah..people always leave..and it makes me think when can i fly away?! gosh! i need to work on my exams fast!and i had not even opened the site of the california board of nursing thingy!

• i spent the holiday eves at mission hospital for iv therapy requirements completion.. i've always wanted to experience it.. we are supposed to go on duty on the 25th but we didn't since we're tired and don't feel like it.. so we just came back on the 26th since it was ok..and intil the 31st, we had no completes the 6 IV insertions, and 2 blood transfusions..i only got 2 insertions and 6 IVTT's..grr! we're planning to have us rescheduled in february instead..

• nevertheless, it was just another ordinary day in hospitals on those holidays..maybe hospitals are also indifferent after all..haha!

• back to the subject. i have not been bothered by the being that is pablo banila..i think he's quite wierd though.. i have heard of him on a number of blogs and profiles..but i haven't thought it to be disturbing until I've read an article of him last weekend on The Inquirer pages. and not until i've discovered this afternoon that he viewed my friendster page! uh oh! i don't know how he came into my page..it's just mere coincidence, i should know..if he's some sort of a hacker then it will still be quite impossible for him to track my friendster account since im using a different email address. and when i opened his account, it says something like "user suspended". i don't know why friendster suspended him but im sure it's because he's been doing the same thing here to everybody there.

• i have not been opening my friendster account for about a week or so now..so i don't really know when he viewed me and how long until he was "suspended". this is creepy.

• i'm so thrilled to recieved it yesterday!! can't wait to read eclipse since i already finished the first two on ebooks..

• i got it from a seller sa ebay..she's really kind enough to stop the bid and sell the books to me even if i don't have an ebay account..

• she got the books for 1400 originally..i got them for 1480 including shipping here to iloilo..not bad! the books are brand new with a few cover creases..although i can't stand to see creases, tears, folds and lines on the spine of my books, i guess i could just close my eyes and make an exception for this one..hehe! luckily, air 21's office is just one block away form our house, do the package arrived the next day even if it is a holiday..yippee!!

• the bad thing is, all of my earnings from this little online shop of mine since i started a month ago was gone..hehe! this is how weak i am when it comes to books..impulsive buying! tsk tsk!i can't stand not to have a copy of the books i've read and liked..anyway, i'm still happy to see my new babies at their nook in my room..haha! i just can't wait for stocks to arrive..i have to grab it now..hehe..

• currently, i will be starting on eclipse..i finished twilight and new moon in ebooks..i have to have the books one way or another..i also downloaded the audio books but it sounds like a bedtime story to put me to sleep..hehe! can't wait for the movie!!
