An Ode to Blogspot

After 128 posts, I am now closing this blog; not deleting it but just intending to close it through this last post. Thank you Blogspot for being my ears for a little over a year. I have opened my life to you and now it has come to a close. I am moving to Tumblr for a more flexible posting. My writing needs have been reduced due to Plurk and Twitter and so, Tumblr is now more suitable for me - short blogging through quotes, chats, videos as well as photos and captions. I am not deleting this site since it is still in my heart that words are immortal. What I have shared here will be preserved and possibly utilized by my demented mind when I reach the golden age. Haha!  For all those who have read my entries, or even just one, thank you for sharing souls with me.  And so, I bid thee farewell. Huhuhu :,-(

Duty Materials Reincarnated

Ever wonder what happened to the contents of your duty bag? This is a repost. Go read and agree!

Namiss mo ba sila?

Thermometer

First Year. Remember that time na grabe ang aral mo just to pass the very first return demo? bwahaha.. todo effort at yun lang pala yun. Remember to read the therm leveled to the eye. One must also remember all those sequence kung panu pahiran ng sari-saring cotton balls ang therm and it end up na CB with alcohol lang pala ang magagamit sa area. Ako, mga tatlo or apat. Just add .5 degree Centigrade. Bawal na ang mercury.

BP app

Ngayon, for the unemployed professional, ito ang pinakasikat. Ito ang apparatus na pinupunta ng mga kabitbahay mo if ever nahihilo sila at kailangan na ng calcium-channel blocker, ACE inhibitor, or diuretics. Since nars ka, ang taging mapapayo mo lang sa mga hypertensive patients na to ay ang magpahinga at the moment o di kaya'y tumawag ng taxi para dalhin na sila sa ospital. If ever na magkaseizure yan or TIA, alam mo ba ang dapat mong gawin?

Tray

Oh well, memories with your tray...

Cute noh? resourcefulness. Tumayo ka with the bandage scissor and with that you carefully cut the leukoplast and let it adhere on the IV pole.

Cotton Applicator

The best! Dahil marami pang natira sa PHN bag mo, napagtripan ng kapatid mong gawin itong cotton buds. Kumusta naman yun? Sterile cotton buds. Lagyan mo lang ng acetone at slowly clean the "stained" skin of your finger. Moreover, this cotton applicator is also useful kung may singaw or canker sore ka. Just place a little of the canker sore drop on the applicator and idiin mo sa singgaw at sumigaw ka sa hapdi.

Clinical Bag

Matibay at buhay na buhay pa ngayon with matching college logo.

At Iba pa

Ibigay mo na lang sa lower years o di kaya sa mga pasyenteng kapos if ever pinapractice mo na ang iyong propesyon. Marami ka kasing maiipon, kelly curved at straight, syringes, needles, bulb syringe, yung catheter, mga med cups, etc... kawang-gawa kung baga.

If ever i'll be a dean... if ever lang naman. I'll be practical.

Double Two's

I turned 22 last February 18. It did not came down to be that I was a year older unlike most celebrants. Most people whine about getting a year older. I cannot see the point. Age is beautiful. I don't care if I'm 22 and jobless or boyfriend-less! It has been that way since day 1. For me, February 18 just felt like an ordinary blessed day before it even started.

A phone call woke me up that day. I placed my phone on silent mode just to be sure that I won't be disturbed by greetings through text but the stubborn vibration of the phone call cut my journey in dreamland short. Well, it was a greeting from the other side of the world. They were talking and giggling and all I can here are mumbles from the other line. Oh well, my ears are still sleepy. I remember we were mentioning about a mass. All I was thinking was the Ash Wednesday mass which I have attended the previous day. I did not realize that it was a birthday mass he was referring about. Haha! Talk about just an ordinary blessed (sleepy) day.

That day, I went on practicum duty. I had a Pizza and Donut treat for them that afternoon. We had fun! I am having fun with this practicum thing. Aside from refreshing my skills, I am making new friends. You just gotta love life. Aside from getting text greetings,  also got birthday notes and cards from my best friends that day. they knew I love handwritten notes of sweet nothingness! haha! And I love surprises. Thanks guys, for always! You're the best! The winner was Kai's. It was the most etchos one so I chose it. Haha!

What better way to celebrate having double two's in your age than having two celebrations as well! That weekend, I had a Twitter Party. Well, a mini Twitter Party that is since we were only four - Loren, Marge, Kim and I. But it was hell fun! We ate lunch and talked for hours and hours! I think it was about 4 hours of non stop chika! It was like Twitter came to life! haha! I owe it to my tweethearts to celebrate with them since basically, they are my everyday barkada. they compensate for the lack of a physical one secondary to PAL syndrome vs long distance friendship. Hahaha! Virtual friendship saves the day!

So that was it. Sorry for the super delayed post. Blame it on writer's block.
22 and loving it!

Happy Hearts!

Dear Stupid Cupid,
You are tricky. That's all.
Love, Hazel

Love is our heart's wisdom. So for the couples out there, love the one who's beside you more than ever. For the singles (including me) surround yourself with so much love so that you can give more when someone worthy comes along.

Today was fun. We heard the Chinese New Year Mass this morning then planned to eat somewhere in Mandurriao with a close family friend. So we 2 families went on a food trip to who knows where. All Papa knows is that it is located in front of the church. We asked where it was as we got there. Turned out it was an Arroz Caldohan. We went inside but the Arrox caldo is not yet ready until after an hour. So we went to eat at an eatery beside it which serves Nila-ga. Yummy nila-ga.. After which, we waited for the Arroz Caldo to be ready.. I've always loved the simplicity of sidewalk eateries. I cannot understand why some would not dare to step in. The parents were talking earlier that some of their friends would not eat on a place like that. I was in my mini skirt earlier and I feel we were dressed up for the "venue" since we came from church but I did not care. It was fun! Next stop was dessert! We were joking that each venue is a celebration of Chinese New Year, Valentines and the next one will be JJ's birthday. Haha! (And of course, JJ spilled some soup in his uniform.. Clumsy as always)

We went to Mang Inasal Smallville to have some Halo-Halo but it was closed. Off to Nothing But Desserts, instead. We had yummy gelatos. By this time, the students, who were still in uniform from church, are aching to come home. They need to study. I never had this study habit until now, even just half their level.
This was a fun and unique Valentines and Chinese New Year! Family is indeed love!

And for my second valentine me-time tradition, I watched Chances Are, another feel good old movie I haven't seen. This movie was fun and cute! Robert Downey, Jr. was a charmer! It is a light comedy about a man who died, left his pregnant wife and while in heaven, he asked to be brought back in a different body. A fun, feel good romantic comedy. Watch it! Speaking of movies, I have been watching things lately that involves best friends being in love with each other. I wonder what's up lately. Hmm..

Later, we'll go out for a family dinner..

Watching an Icon

I was in Bacolod yesterday for "Lea..Your Songs". It was Lea Salonga's concert featuring fan requests. I nearly missed this one! I forgot about this since at first I thought our practicum duty will start this week so I decided not to come. I thought the concert will be next week until I saw Lea's tweet that she was in Bacolod for a concert the next day! I posted back with a sad face since I thought I'm not able to see her perform. Lucky enough, my cousin tweeted me back in the afternoon that they haven't bought tickets yet. Thank God for Twitter! It took a while for me to decide since I have classes the next day. But, heck! This is once in a while, so yes it is! And I did not regret a second of it. I was with cousins Vic Vic, Michelle, Siote and wife Pola, and aunts, Tita Els and Tita Neneng. We cut lines when we arrived, we also cut lines in Potato Corner..Haha! Shhh!

.
Fans sent her song requests and they consolidated them for her concert set list. Songs included are Lady GaGa's Poker Face, Beyonce's Halo, Air Supply Songs, OPM and Jologs songs, Rihanna, Akon, a couple of Glee songs and of course Broadway classics. She did her rendition of Bayan Ko, the one she sang in Cory's wake. It was the most requested song in her site. I wanted to put up a request last year when I heard of this but I couldn't think of anything! haha! She also did a duet of A Whole New World with an audience. He is American and good looking but the singing was funny! haha! He makes up tunes on certain lines. The whole audience sang along with them to help him out. It was like we were singing with Lea too! Imagine that. You are singing a duet with the real Princess Jasmine. The feeling must be surreal. If I am male and have a good voice (doesn't have to be great, good will do), I will run up on stage and sing my heart and lungs and head and guts out!! What was funny was the guy asker Lea for water before they start singing! Haha! That was fun! She also answered some fan questions posted in her site like, how many boyfriends she had. The crowd teased her with Aga Mulach! haha! And here we are, getting a feeling close moment agreeing and commenting to what she was sharing regarding her wedding anniversary since we are following her on Twitter! haha! She also sang some Micheal Jackson as a tribute to him. We were looking for ABBA and Motown songs for her to sing also! It would be more fun! I was singing along more than half of the concert. The songs were very familiar since they were popular fan requests. Too bad she did not sing Sun and Moon and We Could Be In Love. Those are among my favorites. But nevertheless, the concert was a BLAST! I was in awe the whole time of how amazing her voice is. And I was shaking my head periodically of the beauty of her music. And you know, when I saw amazing, I'll put my money on it! She is really a world class performer and the concert came natural to her as if it was not staged. Together with her brother, Gerard Salonga and the Filharmonika Orchestra, they made songs sound so classy and glamorous even if they were belting out jologs songs.
Her guests included Reymond Sajor, World Champion Vocalist, and Ai Ai de las Alas. It was Ai Ai who broke the house down. She was hilarious. She went up on stage dressed up like Annie and she had this stuffed toy dog as her pet. She was dragging the dog on the stage as she enters! Hahaha! She also danced non stop like crazy!!! We laughed so hard that we didn't get to hear the name of the dog.. She named it Bantay, last name, Bata! hahaha!
.
We were hoping to go backstage to have photos taken but connections were down last night. We just went home and bought take out pizzas.
.
I just came home this morning since I still have a 10 Am class. And now, I'm sleepy! We slept around past 1 in the morning after some pizza and Coke. I am now having a Lea hangover. I can't get the fun out of my mind. I hope this isn't the last one!
